Daniela woke with severe lower abdominal pain that intensified until she could barely stand. Upon getting up to use the bathroom, she experienced dizziness, hot and cold sweating, and became pale as paper. Her vision became fuzzy, hearing reduced to buzzing, and she felt extremely weak with no strength.
As her parents tried to help her, Daniela suddenly experienced an out-of-body perspective. She saw herself, the entire situation, and heard everything happening from outside her physical body. Everything then went black before she saw a bright white light that attracted her. She heard murmurs and thought "This is it" before letting herself fall into her father's arms. During these moments, she initially felt anguish and fear, but when she left her body, she felt tranquil and pleasant. The out-of-body observation included seeing herself in the bathroom with her parents holding her to prevent her from falling. She heard them saying "She is falling, I can't hold her" and felt their anguish. She witnessed the entire scene from an external perspective before encountering the bright white light. When Daniela regained consciousness, she was lying on the floor with very low blood pressure. She slowly recovered, though medical studies found nothing to explain the event. The experience transformed her fear of death, reducing it from great fear to only slight fear.
