CT developed pulmonary emboli after gallbladder surgery. The night the clots moved, she experienced a life-threatening event. She recalls entering a dark tunnel with a bright light at the end. She spoke to someone she could not see, saying "I am not ready yet. I have three kids to bring up." She had three children under four years old at the time, and believes her determination to care for them saved her life. She was not afraid and her body was not stressed. Though she cannot recall if she used actual words or thoughts, she clearly communicated with an unseen presence. The bright light did not hurt her eyes, and she found herself in a peaceful, quiet place. The experience gave her lasting assurance that heaven exists and that we don't pass from this life alone. She has never forgotten making the choice to live and maintains moderate religious faith as a Catholic who taught Sunday school for six years.
