During an 8-hour brain surgery to remove a cavernous angioma from her right frontal lobe, Alice experienced entering into a marvelous light that emitted warmth and profound peace. In this otherworldly realm, she encountered Jesus sitting against an immense tree. She described His face as beautiful "like no other you see on earth." During this encounter, Jesus touched her hand, and Alice thought she would die because He was taking her with Him. Instead, the surgery was successful and she recovered. Alice only shared this experience with her mother a year and a half after the surgery. Following the NDE, Alice developed heightened mediumistic abilities, including the ability to see and communicate with spirits using telepathy. She also gained precognitive abilities - she would know things that would occur in the future, could sense if people were sincere or suffering from illness, and became very sensitive toward people who suffered emotionally. The experience strengthened her belief in God and life after death. Alice's mother is reporting this account as Alice is no longer living.
