Winnie had taken a late morning nap and was dusting in her bedroom when she hit her left elbow, experiencing funny bone pain and dizziness. She passed out and hit the left side of her face near her eye, shattering the bones. Initially, she felt she was continuing to dust, but then found herself flying through a dark night sky filled with beautiful, shining stars. She felt a cool breeze and was aware of beings beside her at both elbows, though she never looked at them, feeling trusting. She moved quickly and found herself above a bright, pleasant courtyard with pillars and a dazzling white crystal floor that shimmered. She observed many people in white and colors hurrying in one direction as if to a meeting. Her eight-year-old son's voice interrupted, shaking her and asking if she was sleeping. She realized she wasn't breathing and would die if she couldn't breathe again. Unable to expand her lungs, she tried contracting them instead, which worked. Her husband found her with her head slightly caved in and took her to the hospital for surgery. The doctor said the spot she hit could easily have resulted in death and she had a concussion. The experience left her feeling peaceful, trusting, and not afraid, with heightened appreciation for beauty.
