Vikash attempted to climb his building in London after being locked out of his flat. While trying to reach a first-floor balcony from atop a five-foot iron railing with spikes, the cast iron balcony broke off in his hand. He fell backwards, turning to his front mid-fall, and landed left side down on the railing which pierced through his clothing and ribs, breaking them and missing his heart by one inch. He stopped breathing immediately after pushing himself off the railing. During this critical moment, he experienced an out-of-body perspective where he found himself on top of a building across the road, looking down at his own body like a bird from the roof. He had the distinct thought that it wasn't his time to go yet. Suddenly, he woke up in the hospital, saved by passing paramedics who had been flagged down by bystanders. The experience included bright vision, strong emotions of confusion, a sense of understanding everything about the universe, and his past flashing before him. He felt he came to a barrier he was not permitted to cross and was sent back.
