Kathy experienced two separate NDEs. First at age 11 while drowning in a pool in Kiefer, OK, when another child jumped on her and repeatedly pushed her underwater. During this event, she saw an underwater movie-like life review showing herself playing with her brother, working in the garden with parents, and holiday gatherings with living grandparents. Her deceased grandmother (died when she was 9) called her name through what seemed like a speaker. She reached toward her grandmother's face underwater before losing consciousness and being rescued by her mother. EMTs determined she was okay. The second NDE occurred at age 20-21 during a grand mal seizure after falling on concrete. She experienced complete darkness with a pinhole of brilliant white light and heard indescribable, calming music without rhythm or voices that felt familiar. She heard her own voice say "so this is what it's like to die, it's not so bad." She was revived with a broken jaw and head injury, immediately telling rescuers "I died. I just died."
--- Biblical Summary --- Biblical elements: Both experiences contain biblical NDE elements including life review, encounters with deceased relatives, divine light, and otherworldly music often associated with heavenly realms. The grandmother's presence and the brilliant light align with biblical descriptions of the afterlife. The sense of peace about death reflects Christian comfort with passing. Unbiblical elements: None identified. The experiences contain standard NDE elements without any new age, reincarnation, or unbiblical spiritual concepts.
