During a termination of pregnancy surgery in December 1992, Tamara experienced a severe hemorrhage that medical staff could not initially control. While under total anesthesia, she found herself rising from her body and hovering above the surgery table. From this elevated perspective, she witnessed copious bleeding on the floor and a rush of nurses and physicians surrounding her physical body. She observed everything clearly from above, feeling no emotions or physical sensations - just pure consciousness and awareness of BEING. She had no physical form but retained her individual consciousness. After the experience, she awoke receiving a blood transfusion with several liters being transferred. When she told the doctor she had witnessed everything, he was puzzled since she had been under total anesthesia. The experience left her with a profound understanding that consciousness exists independently of the physical body and that there is more to existence than physical reality.
