On July 12, 1975, 16-year-old Sheila suffered a catastrophic car accident, breaking her neck between the atlas and axis vertebra with a 1-inch separation - technically decapitated. Her brother had broken his neck six months earlier. During the accident, she remembers everything going completely black with total comfort beyond any bodily sensation. She heard them confer and noticed one had a bald spot. She felt like pure energy, atoms floating cohesively, in a dimension beyond our three-dimensional world with telepathic communication. Sheila encountered a compassionate being of pure light and love, like a Jesus figure, in a beautiful library-type area where she experienced a 360-degree life review of past, present, and future. After seeing she hadn't completed her life mission, she knew it wasn't her time. She told her neurosurgeon about observing his colleague's bald spot and hearing their conversation, though he remained skeptical. Her father gave her "Life After Life" which validated her experience. The NDE profoundly transformed Sheila, initially leaving her with perfect peace and positivity that gradually eroded through daily life. She learned humans have more power through thoughts and orientation than realized. Her brother envied her NDE experience as he hadn't had one despite his similar injury. She woke from her coma 3-4 weeks later, having been told she was among the first to survive such an injury.
