During a rainy afternoon car accident in 1964, seven-year-old Sandi experienced a head-on collision when two young men racing lost control. She heard her mother yelling her father's name before rising out of the car, going through the roof. She found herself held in clouds of amazing, brilliant colors that were both visible and tactile, feeling like being held in someone's arms. She sensed God's presence along with another being she assumed was Jesus, though they appeared as part of the cloud-like colors rather than in bodily form. She felt absolute peace, comfort, and no fear during this experience.
Sandi observed herself leaving through the car roof and saw her mother hitting the dashboard and falling back. While out of body, she experienced colors that could be both seen and felt simultaneously, with lights coming through or filtering through the colors. She described being enveloped in a cloud of colors with a mystical light present. Two spiritual beings were present - she felt them rather than seeing them, and they were communicating comfort to her and to each other. The experience ended suddenly when she found herself back in the car's back seat. Time had elapsed as police and EMTs were now helping her mother. She could see the emergency response happening around her. Medical personnel examined her last because she was the calmest, discovering she had a broken collarbone but felt little pain. Following this experience, Sandi has never been the same, living without fear or doubts about death. She gained certainty about God's existence and developed heightened empathy for others. She occasionally experiences warnings of danger and has sensed spiritual presences. The experience left her with the understanding that we are surrounded by another dimension at all times, with our bodies acting like a prison that prevents us from perceiving it.
