Rose was visiting Mt. Vesuvius when the vehicle's brakes failed during descent. After the vehicle stopped, she exited and immediately fell, hitting her head on a cement barrier and losing consciousness. She had urinated and defecated, leading observers to believe she had died. During her unconscious state, she floated through a tunnel toward a bright white light, experiencing immensely beautiful peace she had never felt before. Hovering over her body, she saw her brother and sister-in-law crying, wanting to tell them not to cry as she was in a great place. She passed through a tunnel with darkness around her, moving straight toward the beautiful bright light. The feeling of peace, joy, and comfort was overwhelming. She wanted to stay but was suddenly back in her body, awakening embarrassed but feeling like the luckiest person alive. The experience eliminated her fear of death, gave her certainty about the afterlife, and provided her with enhanced intuitive abilities she calls "ESPN" - knowing who's calling and sensing whether things are good or not through what she believes is the Holy Spirit. Her faith shifted from Catholicism to general Christianity.
