In May 1992, John H, age 63, suffered cardiac arrest on an airplane returning from Malta. His sister, a nursing sister, could not find his pulse. While unconscious, he found himself outside the plane in a large, brightly lit room with curtains and steps leading to even brighter light. Five adults and two children, all dressed in pale tight-fitting clothes with similar hairstyles, approached him. They radiated friendliness, love, and well-being. Two of them took his arms to lead him toward the bright light. He felt relaxed, happy, and free of illness. He heard his sister say "I think he is dead" before being pulled back. He was given oxygen for the remainder of the flight. Later diagnosed with post-viral syndrome affecting heart and lungs. His sister maintains she couldn't find a pulse and doesn't believe it was just a faint. The experience altered his outlook on dying though he is not religious.

--- Biblical Summary ---
Biblical elements: Near-death during cardiac arrest, encounter with loving beings who appeared to be escorting him to the light (possibly angels), bright light beyond (possibly divine presence), feelings of peace and well-being, and transformation of death perspective.

Unbiblical elements: The experiencer states he is "not religious in any way," though this doesn't negate the biblical nature of the experience itself.
