Pegi experienced a life-threatening tubal pregnancy with twins at seven weeks gestation. After having her tubal ligation reversed to conceive, she began experiencing severe pain that progressively worsened until she could barely walk. During the hour-long drive to the emergency room, the pain suddenly stopped in an unusual way that made her realize she was dying. Upon arrival, she told the nurse she felt faint and might have a tubal pregnancy. While being pushed in a wheelchair down the hall with her head down toward a bowl, she suddenly experienced being shot through a tunnel like a rocket, with the sound of fast wind and incredible speed, feeling like a roller coaster going straight up toward space. She was terrified of where it was taking her and knew she wouldn't know how to get back.
The journey abruptly stopped, and Pegi found herself suspended in brilliant white light that surrounded her completely - above, below, and all around. She couldn't see her body but still felt like herself. Initially feeling alone, she then noticed shadows of people standing before her, with one sitting in the middle who she knew was God. An intense dialogue ensued where Pegi, in her desperation, was initially rude and disrespectful, screaming that she didn't want to be there and had young sons at home who needed her. God communicated through thought that she was manipulating and wasn't in control there. Humbling herself, she asked God to look into the future and if her sons would be better off without her, she would stay. She was shown her sons being raised by their father with a girlfriend who didn't love them the way she did, and they were terribly sad and alone. When she asked "Who else will teach them about you?" she was instantly returned to her body. The severity of Pegi's condition became apparent when ultrasound revealed internal bleeding filling her entire abdominal cavity up to her chest, with one twin in the uterus and one stuck halfway in and out of the fallopian tube. Despite initial misdiagnosis, her condition deteriorated throughout the night with severe pain, passing out, and vomiting whenever she sat up. The next morning, emergency surgery was ordered after the internal bleeding was discovered. She was made to sign organ donation papers, her family was called in and told she wouldn't survive, and her mother was put in charge of funeral arrangements. The medical evidence strongly supported that she had experienced clinical death during her wheelchair journey. After surviving against all odds, Pegi's life was profoundly transformed. She developed a certainty about God's existence, moving from belief to absolute knowledge. Her prayer life changed dramatically - she now prays directly in front of God rather than to someone distant. The experience gave her enhanced intuitive abilities and awareness of people's energy. She later fostered 60 children over 16 years and adopted nine children with her second husband, feeling this was part of her purpose in returning. The promise she made to God about teaching her children about Him became a defining aspect of her life's mission.
