Morgan, age 19, was deep sea diving with her 17-year-old brother James and their diving teacher. The teacher made a dangerous decision to dive to 240 feet, a depth reserved for professionals only. The sandy bottom appeared flat but was deceptive, causing them to continue descending deeper. Morgan spotted an enormous amber shell about one meter tall, shaped like a mussel, planted in the sand. Excited by her find, she grabbed it and pulled with all her might, but it barely budged. This extreme exertion completely depleted her oxygen supply, and all three divers began experiencing nitrogen narcosis (bingeing). She tried to get air from her brother three times, but he played with his mouthpiece, not realizing she was genuinely out of air. Though she had a reserve tank, the nitrogen narcosis prevented clear thinking about pulling the reserve cord.
As Morgan was dying, she felt the overwhelming urge to remove her mask and mouthpiece despite her brain warning that she was deep underwater and would die. Using her last energy, she swam to the teacher who was far away and grabbed his arm forcefully. The teacher and her brother began bringing her to the surface, a 45-minute ascent from 240 feet without giving her any air. During this ascent, Morgan suddenly exited her physical body and observed the scene from outside. She moved closer to examine and recognize herself, experiencing great shock at seeing her own body. Then she "popped into a marvelous Light" that was incredibly bright yet non-blinding, filled with pure love and all-knowing presence. In this light, she faced a choice to stay, which she deeply wanted, or return to life. Morgan thought about being only 19 years old and how her parents, brothers, and friends would be sad, though she noted she had no real concept of happy or sad in that state. Most significantly, she thought "I don't want to be born again," suggesting either fear of reincarnation or simply not wanting to repeat life. At the exact moment of this thought, her body surfaced after the 45-minute ascent. Her other body, the one that had been in the Light, "slapped back" into her physical body with great force. The diving teacher and brother had somehow managed to bring her unconscious body to the surface without giving her any air during the entire 45-minute ascent from 240 feet, which should have been fatal. The experience profoundly changed Morgan's life. She reports no fear of death since the incident and gained numerous psychic abilities including shape-shifting perception, seeing Earth as alive, and perceiving life in stones. She changed her name after the experience, marking it as a complete transformation of identity. Morgan freely shares her experience with everyone, though some ask her to stop because it frightens them. She describes the overall experience as "AWESOME" and remains convinced of its absolute reality nearly 50 years later.
