In July 1979, ten days after delivering her fourth son, Laura M began hemorrhaging severely. After receiving blood transfusions and surgery (D&C) at the hospital, she initially felt fine. However, she then experienced a severe allergic reaction to the blood transfusions, with her temperature exceeding 106°F, organs shutting down, and medical staff unable to find a pulse. She heard the nurse report these critical symptoms while experiencing another hemorrhage. Despite the doctor's diagnosis of allergic reaction, Laura knew she was dying as her "spirit was flowing out."
After feeling overwhelming sadness about dying without saying goodbye to her family, Laura died. She first experienced the absence of pain and relief, then found herself in a black void of tremendous energy that held her in calm and peace. She maintained continuous consciousness and identity. She was then enveloped in great light and love, resting in joy, bliss, and grace with Him (whom she identified as Jesus). He communicated telepathically that it wasn't her time and she needed to return to complete her life's mission. She learned this realm used pure "language of love" where communication was heart-to-heart and soul-to-soul, preventing misunderstandings. When Laura exercised her free agency to stay, He showed her visions of her three older sons' futures on a pristine white beach. She saw their struggles, hardships, and how her death would add anger and loneliness to their difficulties. She witnessed how her maternal love would lighten their paths. He explained how each person, like grains of sand on a beach, is irreplaceable and must contribute their unique part. She learned her infant son would be raised differently, losing his father's influence early. She witnessed a future event showing her husband's fatal accident (which occurred four years later). She saw hundreds of ancestors who had united to create her unique DNA and enable her earthly mission. Her infant son had specifically chosen her as his mother through a sacred covenant. After a life review that left her ashamed, she experienced Christ's complete, non-judgmental love and learned she was part of divine love through the Atonement. She discovered everything in creation was made in love for her, including a conscious, loving flower. Finally told this experience was needed for her life mission, she returned with the understanding that "the only thing you get to bring back is love - the love you gave away." The experience led to a complete spiritual transformation and later hospice work.
