Kathi underwent gallbladder removal surgery and experienced complications in the recovery room. She woke with goop in her eyes, cottonmouth, oxygen tube, and arms tucked under her body, unable to speak. She then left her body and floated to the ceiling at the opposite side of the room, sitting next to a large white clock with black numbers and hands. She was enveloped in warm, wonderful unconditional love and total peace, seeing a pinpoint of light to her side as the source. She knew she was close to death but felt incredibly happy and at peace. Looking down, she watched the nurse try repeatedly to wake her, rubbing her shoulder. Unable to rouse her, the nurse paged the doctor and called a code. Medical staff rushed in, washing her eyes, placing ice chips in her mouth, and freeing her arms. The doctor pushed her shoulders back and forth, saying loudly that she needed to wake up, that her two little girls needed their mommy. This brought her back into her body. The experience transformed her understanding of death, universal connection, and unconditional love. She lost her fear of death and gained lasting peace about the afterlife.
