Jobe was working when he accidentally pulled a piece of steel into a 7,400 volt power line, causing immediate electrocution. The moment of contact triggered an instant out-of-body experience where he found himself hovering above his physical form, watching his body being shocked with electrical current. Despite witnessing this traumatic scene, he experienced no fear but instead felt an overwhelming sense of peace and divine love. He was acutely aware of being in God's presence during this state.
During the experience, Jobe communicated telepathically with the divine presence, asking with a sense of wonder rather than fear, "Wow, this is it huh? This is how I am going to die?" The experience was characterized by an intense feeling of love that he describes as indescribable - a profound emotional state that has remained with him years after the event. He felt completely at peace with the prospect of death, experiencing incredible joy and a sense of unity with the universe. The love he felt was so powerful that it fundamentally transformed his understanding of existence. While out of body, Jobe had clear visual perception of the accident scene below. He could see his physical body flopping around from the electrical shock, observing the entire event from an elevated perspective. The visual clarity during this state seemed normal but the emotional and spiritual awareness was heightened beyond ordinary consciousness. His observations were limited to the immediate scene of the accident, with no reports of distant viewing or seeing hidden objects. After the electrical power subsided, Jobe returned to his body with a sudden "boom" sensation. He was able to go to the hospital where doctors expressed amazement at his survival, stating he should have been dead or suffered major organ damage. Remarkably, four years after the incident, he has experienced no physical damage from the electrocution. The experience transformed him from having 95% faith to 100% faith in God's existence, leading to his baptism six months later and daily Bible reading.
