Erika was 11 weeks pregnant and having a severe asthma attack brought on by a virus. Without health insurance or proper medication, she went into respiratory distress. EMTs had her walk to the ambulance, then she lost consciousness. She moved through purple light that was dark but not frightening, then entered pure white light that was beautiful, loving, and peaceful beyond description - like being surrounded in warm, loving wings of light. She heard a little boy's voice say "Mommy, don't leave me," which she thought was her 7-year-old son. Not wanting to leave this perfect place where life meant suffering and death meant pure pleasure, she was told by her deceased mother-in-law (who had died four months earlier) that she didn't belong there and had to go back. She then viewed her body from above as EMTs wheeled her from ambulance into hospital, and saw her mother talking to doctors in the emergency room about her condition. She verified with her mother that she was definitely unconscious when her mother spoke with doctors. She regained consciousness intermittently before being put in a medically induced coma, waking Monday on a ventilator. About a year later, her young son chased after her saying "Mommy, don't leave me!" in the exact same voice - she then knew it had been her unborn child during the NDE. The experience made her much more spiritual, openly practicing witchcraft, and she developed telepathy and empathy with animals and enhanced psychic abilities.
