In 1986, Cindy was 26 years old and returning from a lake with a friend who was driving an older Cadillac with balding tires. On a curving stretch of road in extreme heat, the car lost control when the back tires lost traction. Everything seemed to slow down as they weaved and went airborne off the road, narrowly missing a telephone pole. The car rolled six times. Cindy was conscious throughout the rolling but doesn't remember going through the windshield. She was clinically dead for three minutes. During her NDE, she found herself hovering above the accident scene, watching people run down the hill to help and seeing her friend climb out of the car with only scratches. She heard what sounded like wind chimes that made her feel relaxed and felt a presence near her. She saw a light that looked like sun behind clouds that got brighter as the clouds parted, and she knew if she stayed to watch them part fully, she wouldn't be able to return. She observed the scene from above with clear vision from all angles simultaneously. She watched them give her unconscious body CPR while feeling calm and wrapped in warmth. After being revived, she was in a coma for two weeks. Following the experience, her intuitive abilities increased significantly.
