Cindy was slicing a bagel when she cut her hand between thumb and forefinger. While holding the cut under running water, she felt lightheaded and laid down on the kitchen floor. She lost consciousness and had a seizure. During the experience, she was pulled through a dark tunnel that became filled with glowing blue light. She was not in her body and felt like she was moving very quickly through the tunnel. She saw shadowy figures lining the sides who were questioning why she was there, saying "Why is she here now?" and "She's not supposed to be here." Though she felt nervous, she was being pulled and couldn't stop herself. She then heard her husband calling her name faintly, focused on his voice which became louder, and leaped into the sound to return. Her husband reported she had convulsed with spasmodic motions while her eyes rolled upward. She suffered painful headaches and listlessness for days afterward. This appears to be a seizure-related experience, possibly triggered by vasovagal response to blood/injury, with a family history of seizure disorders.
