She saw the medical team working on her, particularly noting a young nurse who had been caring for her and a technician who had performed a cardiogram earlier. She observed a grayish light passing over each person's face as she looked at them. While observing this scene, Carole heard a calm voice in her head asking, "Do you want to live or die?" The experience was deeply peaceful, and she was initially tempted to choose death. However, the persistent calls from the nurses urging her to return influenced her decision. When she declared "Yes I want to live," she immediately opened her eyes to find everyone there exactly as she had seen them from her out-of-body perspective. The nurse later confirmed they had been performing CPR and were concerned about breaking her ribs due to her fragility. X-rays confirmed no ribs were broken. The experience left Carole with a profound sense of having been blessed and chosen for this experience. She was struck by the complete peace she felt during what should have been a terrifying medical emergency. The verification from the nurse about their CPR efforts and concerns validated her out-of-body observations.
