During a rural party celebration, an accidental wildfire broke out causing panic. Carl got lost trying to rescue ranch livestock and was trapped behind flames and smoke. He collapsed from smoke inhalation and was clinically dead in the operating room. He experienced being out of body, observing medical staff working on him. When alone, two friends entered the room, triggering his departure to another realm he calls "HOME." This experience seemed to last days or weeks. HOME was composed entirely of light - a light that was both light and life, where everything was connected as One. He encountered ancient beings he calls "THEM" who appeared like humans but were teachers or guardians. He was shown grey void places where isolated beings existed alone, which frightened him. THEM asked him to return to help with something important coming, though not as a prophet but as a tool. He agreed to return despite wanting to stay. The experience gave him self-acceptance, unconditional positive regard, and understanding that this world is grey with less life and light than HOME. He believes he was altered upon return, with something ancient awakened or placed within him. His purpose is to share LIGHT through giving. He has encountered "grey people" since returning, including someone who had attempted suicide and experienced the void.
