Caren was in an abusive relationship and during an argument, her ex-boyfriend threw her on the bed and began choking her. She tried to speak but couldn't, fought back by kicking him in the ribs, but he squeezed tighter. She felt an irritating numbing sensation throughout her body and became cold. Her muscles were flexing but she wasn't moving anymore. She stared at the room light which looked beautiful, her vision revolving around it before going black. She felt light as a feather, floating upward toward a baby blue setting. Initially feeling fine with no emotions, she then saw her sister appear like a photograph and heard multiple whispering voices. Upon seeing her sister, emotions overwhelmed her. She became sad but determined to stop ascending, repeatedly telling herself "No! I'm not done yet." She felt herself fall, saw black again, then her vision returned and she began gasping for air. She couldn't move for several seconds, felt tingling all over, severe headache, and heart pain. Her ex was threatening her to stop gasping with tears in his eyes. The experience transformed her relationship with her sister, making them closer than ever. She became more independent but has trust issues. She hasn't self-harmed since and tries to focus on positive aspects of life.
