Bonnie was experiencing severe self-inflicted bleeding and became weak after struggling to breathe for several minutes before collapsing near her bed on March 3, 2012. She was in significant pain when she blacked out. Suddenly, all pain ceased and she stopped breathing, crying, or gasping for air. She noticed she had no need to breathe and felt sexless, ageless, and eternal. An overwhelming feeling of comfort and warmth surrounded her as she floated above her body. Her vision expanded to see in all directions simultaneously - above, below, and around. She observed the ceiling glowing and expanding, opening to infinite space with yellow-white light. Below, she saw her body and approximately two pints of blood covering her arm and floor. Despite the graphic scene, she felt no fear or negative emotions, only peace far superior to returning to her earthly turmoil. She knew it was her body but didn't care. She floated continuously upward toward the light while sensing a collective consciousness of souls emanating great love toward her, pulling her higher. Just before entering the light, she felt she should return to her body and began falling slowly. She struggled initially to find her lungs and breathe again. When she did, pain returned along with body awareness and movement. The experience profoundly transformed her religious views from fundamentalist Mormon to spiritualist polytheist. She now experiences enhanced spiritual abilities including pendulum work, contacting the deceased, visions, supernatural encounters, and occasional precognition. She has only shared this with believers due to her family's closed-mindedness.
