This is a second-person NDE account from a mother about her 2-3 year old daughter's experience during ear tube surgery around 1974. The child had a severe reaction to anesthetic, stopped breathing, turned blue, and had to be resuscitated with CPR. The medical report confirmed the clinical death event. After the unsuccessful surgery (only one ear tube was inserted), the child was kept for observation. While still hospitalized, the young girl told her mother she had been "in that place" and drew a disturbing picture - entirely black except for floating white figures near the top and a small building in the upper left corner. She said she was trying to get home and there were angels around her. The child was deeply distressed, repeatedly saying angels had come to get her. The mother, alarmed by her daughter's distress, signed her out against medical advice. At home, the child warned to keep "that boy" away from her and slept solidly for two days. The experience had lasting effects - the child later showed exceptional intelligence, became a doctor by age 25, graduated top of her high school class (99.05%), and began attending church regularly. Remarkably, she also spoke of having been here before, having 12 children, and being on the "FLOWER boat" (showing a picture of the Mayflower). The mother recalls this experience vividly even 37+ years later. The child remembers the hospital and being very sick, suggesting some retention of the traumatic event despite her young age.
