William, age 17, was a passenger in a car accident where they hit a telephone pole, suffering severe internal injuries. Due to medical negligence, his injuries went untreated for 36 hours, leading to septic shock and multiple clinical deaths. While in the ICU, intubated with a feeding tube, nutrients entered his lungs causing him to suffocate. Unable to reach the call button, he felt his lungs fill as he took his last breaths, thinking of his family and the life he wouldn't lead.
Instantly, William found himself stepping through "a doorway in the back of my mind" into another dimension. He noticed a thick mist covering the ground to his knees and heard soothing, familiar symphonic music. Looking right toward the music's source, he saw a deep void of darkness like space. In front of him stood his deceased grandmother before a radiant White Light that emanated warmth, love, and complete knowledge. Other peaceful figures in pairs were visible to his left, swaying with the music. His grandmother presented him with a choice: stay with her where everything would be okay, or return to his body for the most challenging experience he would ever endure. She then showed him visions of his grieving family - his living grandparents driving to the hospital, friends discussing his condition, and his mother and aunt watching over him in the hospital. These observations were later verified as accurate, including specific conversations. The experience was preceded by a detailed premonition dream three years earlier showing the exact accident. Additionally, a sensitive friend of his aunt woke her the night of the accident warning of danger, and his mother had a vision of William with his grandmother during the NDE. After choosing to return, William coded three more times during surgeries but survived with profound changes in perspective.
