Tracy, a 47-year-old diabetic man, experienced sharp abdominal pains while visiting his mother in the hospital after her hip surgery. After being rushed by ambulance to the hospital, he became unconscious, his kidneys shut down, and he went into cardiac arrest. During his 1 minute and 14 seconds without a heartbeat, he found himself sitting cross-legged at the bottom of a beautiful tropical lagoon with crystal-clear turquoise water and pure white sand. Vivid neon-colored tropical fish swam around him. A bright ball of light descended from above the water's surface and engulfed everything. Then a wooden post impaled itself in the sand, and his deceased father appeared standing on it, looking perfect, younger, with vivid red hair as in his prime. They had an emotional reunion where Tracy apologized about end-of-life decisions, and his father reassured him he was in a wonderful place beyond imagination. They visited for what seemed like hours, laughing, hugging, and crying. When Tracy tried to follow his departing father, his father smiled and said "No son, you've gotta go back. They're fixing you. It's not your time," then touched his shoulder, placing life back in him. Tracy awakened in the hospital after suffering intestinal blockage, blood poisoning, kidney failure, and cardiac arrest, later developing aspiration pneumonia. The experience convinced him that death is not an end but a new and bountiful beginning.
