In the summer of 1998, eighteen-year-old Therese was living a destructive life in an institution for problem youth in Sweden. She was egotistical, tough, and didn't care for others or herself, smoking and drinking with no life plans. While shopping in Karlstad with a woman from the youth home's personnel department, they waited at a pedestrian crossing. A van stopped and waved them across. Therese saw the traffic signal as green (witnesses said it was actually red) and walked in front of the van. As she stepped into the next lane, a red car hit her at full speed. She remembers realizing it would hit her and that she might die.
Instantly, Therese found herself in another dimension filled with gorgeous white and golden rays of light. A large group of people stood before her, looking happy and welcoming her. She felt at home, as if returning to her real family after a long trip. A Higher Consciousness she recognized as "our Father" spoke directly to her. This Being was love, safety, happiness, understanding, consciousness and freedom. She became aware that she understood everything and had answers to all questions. The Consciousness showed her what her life had been and helped her understand she could choose to return or move on. Realizing she hadn't found her life purpose yet, she chose to continue her earthly life. According to witnesses, the van stopped with a red light (not green as Therese perceived), and the red car hit her on her side. She flew up onto the car's hood, then into the air, dropped to the ground and bounced on the asphalt twice before lying completely still. The woman who had taken her shopping was certain Therese had died and was severely shocked. Despite the violent impact, Therese spent only two days in the hospital with relatively minor injuries - a concussion, broken tooth, and bruising. The experience totally transformed Therese. She became completely different, started loving life, and now believes we come Home when our physical body dies. She describes the colors as incredibly clear and beautiful, with the ability to see everything simultaneously both near and far. Communication occurred through consciousness rather than words. The experience eliminated her destructive behaviors and gave her a sense of purpose.
