In August 2010, Rhonda was rushed to the emergency room with a 104-degree fever and a septic gall bladder. During surgery to remove her gall bladder, complications arose - what normally takes one hour took almost three hours due to bleeders the surgeon couldn't stop. She came out requiring oxygen 24/7 and had developed diabetes. In the ICU, she stopped breathing and had to be resuscitated by nurses.
During this experience, Rhonda found herself in a comforting tunnel with soft light, not dark but not bright. She experienced overwhelming emotions centered in her solar plexus - an incredible mixture of peace, joy, love, and acceptance so strong she still cries thinking about it. She was able to communicate telepathically without words. When she asked if she was done, she knew that earthly life was only part of her existence. God answered clearly in her head: "It is your choice. You may come with me, or go back." She felt this was truly her choice. She told God she needed to go back because she didn't feel she had accomplished what she set out to do, and felt emotions of kind acceptance without judgment.
