Patricia and a friend were swimming at Fire Island, New York during a solar eclipse when they encountered dangerous waves breaking far from shore. Swimming toward what they thought was a sandbar, they were caught in increasingly rough water with waves breaking continuously over their heads. Patricia repeatedly plunged underwater to avoid being tossed by waves. When she surfaced once, her friend had vanished. As she panicked and struggled, a wave overtook her. She saw other groups of majestic people floating in different layers within the vast, infinite light. Despite feeling at ease, loved, and understood, she was driven to return. She suddenly returned to her body filled with indescribable energy and swam with supernatural strength to a lifeboat where she was rescued.
