In November 2011 in Alaska, Morgan was experiencing severe financial hardship and about to lose his home. With electricity cut off, he borrowed a generator and placed it in the attached garage. Carbon monoxide fumes entered the house, causing partial blackout. Morgan got up feeling unwell, went to the bathroom where he collapsed in blood. His friend Neal found him unconscious and called for help. During this experience, Morgan left his body and found himself with his recently deceased dog Tramp who had died a month earlier. Morgan credits Tramp with saving his life, both before and after the dog's death. He experienced being with Tramp, hearing voices trying to talk with the dog, and seeing a shocking bright, intense, cold non-alive feeling light. He felt incredible peace and joy, understood everything about the universe, and had his past flash before him. Later he felt immense sorrow when wishing he could go back. The experience strengthened his belief in God and heaven, confirming that pets go with us to the afterlife. He now has greater understanding of karma and stands ready to swear on Bibles that the experience was real.
