On December 28, 1978, Michaele was driving her 9-year-old daughter home from the dentist when their car collided with a train at a level crossing. The train emerged from trees and she could not stop in time. She bit the steering wheel multiple times, embedding teeth in wrong places. After the impact, she leaned her head on the wheel thinking "I don't want to deal with this" and suddenly found herself above and outside the car standing next to a being of light. The being had a masculine presence and they communicated through whole thoughts without words. She was told it was her choice to live or continue on. She was shown the essence of her life without judgment. Looking down at her daughter sobbing, she chose to return. The being then took her through a vastness to show her Love - described as boundless, all color and no color, tangible yet mysterious. She was told "This is Love. It is always here, always streaming toward you. All you have to do is be open to it." She then returned to her body and focused on breathing while a mysterious giant woman appeared to comfort her daughter. At the hospital, doctors initially told her mother she would die, but she survived with absolute certainty she would live.
Biblical Assessment: This experience contains several elements compatible with biblical accounts - the out-of-body experience, encounter with a being of light, and the life review without judgment. The emphasis on divine love streaming toward humanity aligns with biblical concepts of God's constant love.
