Michael, 19-year-old Navy seaman, fell into harbor water and required booster shots. In medical bay, he fainted from self-induced panic attack after warning the corpsman. He awoke in a beautiful green field under perfect blue sky. His deceased childhood dog bounded toward him. He exclaimed her name joyfully, feeling complete peace and happiness. Everything felt natural, as if he'd always been there. He was awakened by corpsman screaming with smelling salts, experiencing earth-shattering disorientation. He lunged exclaiming "God help me!" thinking he'd died and awakened in hell. While in the field, he had no memory of earthly life. The experience felt completely real. He notes this is common in fighter pilots with G-induced fainting. His dog had previously appeared in a lucid dream when euthanized for cancer at age 13, saying goodbye and showing she was happy. BIBLICAL: Experience during fainting lacks typical biblical NDE elements. While reunion with pet isn't unbiblical (some argue animals in heaven from Isaiah 11:6-9), absence of divine beings, messages, or transformation differs from biblical visions. Appears more consistent with hypoxia than spiritual encounter.
