He could see many different Indians walking and singing with drums pounding as snow began to fall. When snow fell on his face, the woman would wipe it off. They both looked up to see a bright light that appeared like boiling water, which began pulling him into it. The woman stood with her arms outstretched as he was drawn toward the light. The Native American setting was vivid and multisensory - he could see the Indians, hear the drums and singing (though describing them as simultaneously silent), and feel the snow being wiped from his face. The short-legged black dogs were paradoxically visible despite being black in black darkness. The experience felt very real with the drums, singing, and cultural elements clearly defined.
