On February 14, 2000, LaVall became severely ill and drove himself to the hospital emergency room, though he cannot remember the drive. After telling staff he was "sick" and sitting in the ER, his next conscious memory was being on a gurney in what he believes was an elevator with people frantically around him. After 1-2 minutes of consciousness, he found himself in a brilliant white area and knew he had arrived "there." He encountered non-physical "Entities" he now calls "The Eternals" - intelligences that made him feel completely at home with total acceptance, compassion, and euphoric love. These beings communicated telepathically, explaining they were part of the ultimate Entity that is the Universe in its totality, as are all matter and beings. LaVall awoke February 15 in the ICU. The doctor said they thought he was gone, with blood sugars of 950, and that he should never have reached the hospital or survived. This was his third NDE - at age 13 he had drowned while playing a dangerous game in deep excavation ponds, seeing brilliant white light before inexplicably returning to the surface. Since his 2000 NDE, LaVall has been contacted telepathically by these Entities during daytime, who encouraged him to write about the knowledge given to him. After two years of contact, he wrote an E-Book "Universe The Entities" about the creation of the Universe, other beings with souls, and mankind's destructive nature.
BIBLICAL ASSESSMENT: This experience contains elements that both align with and diverge significantly from biblical teaching. The near-death state and consciousness surviving bodily death supports biblical dualism. The brilliant white light could parallel divine glory described in scripture (1 Timothy 6:16). The feelings of love, acceptance, and being "at home" might reflect God's love and the promise of eternal dwelling with Him. However, the theological content directly contradicts core biblical doctrines. The entities' claim that they and all beings are "part of the ultimate Entity that is the Universe" promotes pantheism - the belief that everything is God - which scripture explicitly rejects. The Bible teaches God is distinct from His creation (Romans 1:25), not that creation is part of God. The ongoing telepathic communication and channeled book about "Universe The Entities" resembles New Age channeling and occult practices forbidden in scripture (Deuteronomy 18:10-12). The Bible warns against "doctrines of demons" and "deceiving spirits" (1 Timothy 4:1) that promote false teachings about the nature of God and reality.
