At age 4, Jeff L experienced an NDE during electrocution while playing with bobby pins in electrical outlets. He placed pins in both holes of an outlet while underneath a desk in the living room. Upon creating the electrical connection, he suddenly could not move and found himself looking down at the room from the ceiling. He could see the couch where his parents were talking, the table, desk, and general room layout. His father pulled him out from under the desk by his legs, ending the experience. The memory remained vivid throughout his life.
The key veridical observation was Jeff's ability to see the entire room layout from above, including his parents on the couch, the furniture arrangement, and his father's rescue action of pulling him out by his legs. This perspective would have been impossible from his position under the desk.
