Eventually, he stood before a figure dressed in black who addressed him as "Danny Joe" and told him he had come too early and needed to return. Danny recognized the voice as his deceased grandfather. He experienced profound peace and saw glimpses of future warfare with supernatural weapons. Upon returning, Danny felt changed, no longer valuing material possessions and knowing with certainty that God exists and an afterlife awaits.
