Christina T experienced two distinct events. In 1987, while sitting by a stream in a California redwood forest, she had a spiritually transformative experience where she was lifted above her body and witnessed a vision of Nicaragua and soldiers in bushes. She continued rising into darkness until white rose petals began enveloping her with increasing light and love, culminating in an encounter with what she perceived as divine light/God. She felt overwhelming joy and all-knowing awareness but returned when remembering her two young sons.
Ten years later, during a hysterectomy, medical staff had difficulty resuscitating her. During this medical crisis, she perceived someone beckoning her - neither male nor female - and felt drawn to follow them. Her friend in the waiting room was called to help bring her back. Later, she received a visitation from her four deceased grandparents who told her she had finally figured out her purpose and needed to continue her work. Following these experiences, Christina's life transformed completely. Music began flowing through her spontaneously, starting with her composition "White Rose." She founded a school training musicians in hospice care, now in its seventeenth year as of 2011. She works with dying patients, witnessing their transitions and teaching others about sacred musical accompaniment during death. The experiences eliminated her fear of death and gave her certainty about eternal existence. Biblical Assessment: The first experience contains mixed elements - the divine light encounter aligns with biblical descriptions of God as light, but the rose petal imagery and out-of-body travel are more mystical than biblical. The second NDE during surgery lacks specific religious content. The grandparents' message about purpose could align with divine calling. However, the spontaneous musical abilities and mystical elements like seeing into other locations suggest influences beyond traditional Christian experience. The work with dying patients reflects Christian compassion, though the spiritual framework appears more universalist than exclusively Christian.
