During childbirth on September 17, 1975, Deborah experienced placental separation from the uterus in the final stages of labor. Medical staff announced they were losing the baby's heartbeat, then lost the mother's heartbeat. She found herself at the ceiling observing them pushing on her stomach. She encountered Greg, a boy from junior high who had died, and realized she was dead. She could pull energy around herself to form her earthly shape.
