In the summer of 1960, when Timothy was a young child at the beach with his parents, he disobeyed instructions not to enter the water since he couldn't swim. He ran into the water and was surprised when it slowed him down. The next memory he has is lying on the bottom of the water looking up at the mirror-like surface above him. Rather than being scared, he experienced light stripes and the presence of beings, possibly angels, beside him.
He then found himself looking at his body from above, experiencing a profound out-of-body state. The experience was accompanied by beautiful music that sounded like thousands of bright voices singing in harmony. He felt he wanted to be there forever and describes the experience as "so real." His blissful state was interrupted when his father, fully clothed and wearing shoes, pulled him from the water and saved his life. Timothy describes being in what felt like a doorway or beginning of a tunnel, surrounded by light of mystical origin. He experienced incredible joy, a sense of unity with the universe, and suddenly seemed to understand everything. The experience has had lasting effects on his life, particularly influencing his deep appreciation for music - he later became a reviewer of ambient music for a magazine. He believes the music he heard during his NDE made him very fond of music throughout his life. --- Biblical Summary --- Biblical elements: The experience includes angelic beings providing comfort during distress, which aligns with biblical accounts of angels ministering to humans. There's no sense of accountability for disobedience (running into water when told not to) or recognition of divine mercy in being saved.
