In January 2009, Tim experienced a severe bowel attack that caused him to lose half his body fluid in about ten minutes, going into hypothermic shock. He suddenly woke up in what he describes as an open space of light where he saw several human forms made of light. Two of these light beings suddenly appeared on either side of him, and when he looked closely, he could see their features - they were his deceased grandmother and father, appearing much younger and more perfect, made of light.
His grandmother welcomed him home, saying "Don't worry, we will take good care of you" through telepathic communication rather than spoken words. Tim felt overwhelming peace, love, joy, and relief, with a strong sense of finally being back home. He experienced memory of this place returning and knew much more there than he remembers now, feeling like he had been away at school and had finally come home. The beings appeared sad when it became clear it wasn't his time yet. Tim was pulled away by an unseen force and awoke in his body with his son shaking his arm saying "I've got him, he's back." His first sensation was how limited his physical body felt - having to use eyes to see, ears to hear, and a body to feel, which felt awful and trapped compared to his expanded state. The primary message he received was to "Trust in God and pray." His father had been dead for twelve years and his grandmother for thirty years. The experience left him knowing with certainty that "we're from there, not here." --- Biblical Summary --- Biblical elements: The experience includes encounters with deceased relatives in a realm of light, which aligns with biblical concepts of the afterlife. The message to "Trust in God and pray" is thoroughly biblical. The beings of light could represent the transformed spiritual bodies described in 1 Corinthians 15:40-44. The overwhelming love and feeling of being "home" reflects biblical descriptions of paradise. Unbiblical elements: The concept of having memory of pre-existence ("memory of this place was coming back") suggests the soul existed before earthly life, which contradicts the biblical teaching that each soul is created at conception. The idea that "we're from there not here" implies pre-mortal existence rather than creation by God.
