Sandra suffered a major subdural hematoma with brain bleeding, unable to clot due to aspirin usage. During weeks in intensive care, she experienced an extended time in "the void" - a vast, infinite darkness that seemed to last both a second and eternity. In this void, she encountered beings she didn't know from this life but felt she had known forever, like a reunion with best friends and teachers. They communicated through thoughts and images conveying much more than words. She was shown that what she hates most in others are qualities she possesses but doesn't see in herself. Love and acceptance were the keys to everything. There was discussion about her decision to return to a body with pain and paralysis versus leaving for good. She floated near the ceiling, observed her body, and examined her charts. The experience led her to become Buddhist based on certainty of reincarnation. She now has increased psychic abilities and encounters with people on "the other side."
--- Biblical Summary --- Biblical elements: The out-of-body experience, consciousness surviving physical trauma, encounters with beings in another realm, learning about love and self-reflection align with some biblical themes about spiritual growth and the afterlife. Unbiblical elements: Conversion to Buddhism, belief in reincarnation, development of psychic/medium abilities, and ongoing contact with the dead directly contradict biblical teaching. Buddhism and reincarnation oppose Christian doctrine of resurrection and eternal life.
