During a family festival in Bihar, India, Rajnish was asked by his mother to repair an electrical wire that had been damaged by a rat. Despite taking precautions by switching off the main power and standing on a wooden table, he forgot to put on his sandals when he came down. As he rejoined the wire ends without gloves, he received a severe electric shock that felt like knife-like particles entering through his finger and speeding through his body to his legs. He cried out loudly before becoming unconscious and falling to the floor. The bare wire fortunately fell from his hand, saving his life.
During the 10-20 seconds of unconsciousness, Rajnish experienced a clear out-of-body state.
