Patrick experienced clinical death on November 10, 1983, after being assaulted by his biological father, causing serious injuries including a collapsed lung that resulted in heart failure. While being treated in the hospital, he heard "resuscitation" and felt heaviness in his chest before leaving his body.
During his out-of-body experience, everything began spinning and he found himself moving between locations - the hospital cafeteria where his mother waited, the resuscitation room, and rubbing against walls. He gained control and instantly traveled to Lourdes sanctuary where he had been in August, then to Paris looking for someone's daughter. Back in the operating room, he observed the medical emergency unfolding. He heard the monitoring equipment beeping as staff panicked. A nurse was sent to quickly get a solution from a distant room, and he was there instantly [HVP]. When the nurse rushed back to prepare an injection, she dropped and shattered the phial [HVP]. He heard the announcement of his heart failure as they attempted defibrillation. While observing from the ceiling, he heard the Eurovision song by Corine Hermès playing in the background [MVP]. The veridical observations included the nurse dropping the phial, the specific song playing, and his instantaneous presence in the room where medication was retrieved. He was then carried through a long tunnel at incredible speed to a bright place where he met Bernadette Soubirou and Saint Peter.
