They told him it was time for a better life with more opportunity, but hearing his mother screaming, Oscar chose to return to spare her suffering. He was told his life would be hard and unhappy, but he insisted on returning. Upon revival through CPR, he retained memories of floating outside and understanding that the sun is where all afterlife entities go first after death.
