Five-year-old Marnie experienced an NDE during a car accident in monsoon season in Hawaii in 1977 when another vehicle ran a red light. She awoke in what she described as a blindingly bright white room with no edges, beginning or end - a space of absolute silence with no sounds or smells, like a "clean room." An elderly white man stood before her, cleanly shaven with receded hairline, wearing a white tunic that reached his ankles. Despite being only five and not knowing who this man was, she felt completely at peace and unthreatened. Though no words were spoken, she had an understanding that she was not meant to be there. Her three granddaughters' heads appeared three times in the space, calling "Nana, don't go - we need you" with distorted voices. After the third plea, the man guided her back to where the granddaughters were, and she felt sucked out of the space. She then heard sirens and a man's voice in the ambulance telling her everything would be okay. Remarkably, this experience included seeing her future granddaughters decades before they were born, though she was only five at the time.
