Mark, stationed aboard USS Prairie in the Philippines, was scuba diving for coral when nearly bitten by a 16-foot shark. Toxic coral embedded in his foot without his awareness. After passing out on the shuttle boat, he was pronounced dead on the Navy ship. He awoke 29 hours later in the morgue with a toe tag, startling a doctor who was urinating on himself from fear.
