Bobbi experienced a heart attack and stroke caused by blood clots in March 2001. She was unconscious for three days in the hospital. Her first memory was seeing everything in gray, then viewing a black and white video of her entire life starting from known events. She desperately wanted to see color again and when she did, she saw incredible colors including shades she could never explain, particularly an unforgettable shade of red. She had visions of things and people she could examine in detail. The experience was wonderful and she wanted to stay but knew she had to return for her 36-year-old son with cerebral palsy who lives with her. She spent nine days hospitalized and retained a blind spot in her right eye. Staff told her she wasn't expected to leave the hospital alive.
