At age three, Lee experienced a febrile seizure with aspiration of vomit and stopped breathing. From high in the air, she watched her terrified mother holding her still body while screaming for help. She felt sad for her mother's distress but personally experienced only peace. She observed from above as neighbors performed rescue breathing on the sofa. The peace ended abruptly when she was revived - suddenly stirring and crying as vomit seared her lungs, feeling terrified for the first time. Despite being only three, she retained extraordinary detail of the event including her mother's lipstick shade, clothing colors, and her own nightgown. The memory remains crystal clear after 47 years. As an adult hospice nurse, she has witnessed many profound death-related experiences that reinforce her belief in consciousness surviving death.
--- Biblical Summary --- Biblical elements: The out-of-body experience with continued consciousness, observation from above, profound peace during clinical death, and the lasting spiritual impact align with biblical accounts of the soul's survival after death and divine peace. Unbiblical elements: Lee later moved away from organized religion to personal spirituality. While her hospice work shows compassion, the shift from faith to generic spirituality represents departure from biblical Christianity.
