Kenneth J suffered a catastrophic industrial accident in October 1985 when a hydraulic hose forced his head back between his shoulder blades, taking over five minutes to extract him. During this time, he observed from above as emergency medical technicians worked on his body, hearing and seeing everything they did. The EMTs declared him dead three or four times. He heard them discussing who would inform his wife of his death. After verification with those present, they confirmed the accuracy of what he observed and heard from his out-of-body position. He suddenly received a large breath of air and returned to his body. The experience required two years of rehabilitation to learn to walk again and left him in permanent pain. Despite the trauma, he experienced no fear while observing his body from above, knowing he was dead but feeling joy and unity with the world.
--- Biblical Summary --- Biblical elements: The out-of-body experience with verified observations strongly supports biblical teaching about consciousness existing separately from the physical body. The peace and joy despite witnessing his own death reflects the biblical promise that death has lost its sting for believers. The sudden return to life could represent divine intervention and God's sovereignty over life and death timing. Unbiblical elements: None identified. This is a straightforward veridical OBE without theological complications or non-biblical spiritual elements.
