At age 3 in 1984, Jon B fell into a swimming pool while his parents and their friends were distracted in conversation. Unable to swim, he remained submerged with feet above his head, struggling unsuccessfully to reach the surface. After about 30 seconds, he accepted his fate and everything faded to black. He believes he never lost consciousness as his soul automatically left his body. From about 10 feet above the pool's surface, he could see his parents frantically trying to fetch his lifeless body from the bottom.
The blue cloudless afternoon sky began to "dissolve" before him, which he now understands as transitioning to another dimension. The sky evaporated into absolute darkness where he saw thousands of equally-spaced white dots of light moving in precise uniformity in an infinity symbol pattern (sideways figure 8), which he presumed were other souls observing him. A giant grey being descended toward him at a 45-degree angle, conveying love so strong he could both sense and physically feel it - the strongest emotion he has ever experienced. The 7-8 foot tall being had a face-like area without distinct features, wore blue and purple jewels like a thin crown, and had a human-like shape without wings, arms, or legs. They were joined by a smaller being, about half the size. Communication was telepathic - Jon received complete sentences instantaneously rather than word-by-word. They assessed his state of mind, asking if he was all right and understood what happened. The smaller being left briefly, then the area transformed from darkness to beautiful golden light. When the smaller being returned and positioned behind Jon, the larger being said "There's nothing we can do, you have to go back." Jon became filled with absolute anger about having to die again someday. Despite pleading to stay and pointing out how frail his body was, he was pushed back into his body during resuscitation attempts, hearing a "click" before opening his eyes. Jon believes the larger being was the Angel of Death and the smaller one his Guardian Angel. --- Biblical Summary --- Biblical elements: The out-of-body experience and journey to another realm aligns with biblical concepts of the spirit's distinction from the body. The beings wearing jeweled crowns resonate with biblical descriptions of heavenly beings, particularly the twenty-four elders with golden crowns (Revelation 4:4). The golden light reflects divine glory described throughout scripture. The telepathic communication mirrors how angels communicate in biblical accounts. The concept of guardian angels aligns with Matthew 18:10 and Psalm 91:11. Unbiblical elements: Describing one being as the "Angel of Death" doesn't align with biblical theology where death is not personified as a specific angel but rather God holds authority over death. The grey appearance of the beings and their lack of typical angelic features (wings, human form) differs from most biblical descriptions. The anger about returning and having to die again shows resistance to God's will rather than submission.
